The Old Brigade – SUDDEN DEATH AT TUCKANARRA
On Monday, the Cue Police received a telephone message from Mrs. Searle at Tuckanarra, stating that Mr. Harry Wells, an old well-known identity, had been found dead in his bed on Sunday, Constables Ryan and Pollit, with Dr. Clarke, motored to Tuckanarra, where the deceased was found lying face downward on his bed. On examination it was found that death, which appeared to be from natural causes, must have taken place on Saturday as the body was in a bad state through decomposition. An order for burial was given, and the body was buried in the Tuckanarra cemetery by the police. Harry Wells was identified with the locality for over 30 years, being amongst the early residents, when it was known as Cork Tree, and he had a fair amount of luck at times, although lately fortune did not shine upon him. Deceased was about 70 years of age.
