Ripping Yarns and Tragic Tales – 6th June 2021

Hi Everyone

How has your week been???  It was touch and go as to this week’s newsletter happening at all. Two days with hardly any internet than having to set up a new laptop, a swap with my husband who now has a new ‘work from home’ laptop. I’m sure everyone who has set up a new laptop with all its annoying little details that have to be done can sympathise. Anyway, it has all been worth it as I now have a keyboard with white keys and a backlight so at least I can see what I’m typing and I didn’t lose any data in the transfer

Our daughter has provided a negative COVID test and has now been free to travel to Perth and her own apartment, so we are back to just the two of us again, and all the animals of course. The house is very quiet without her little dog Lemon.

Im still working away on the biographies of those buried in the Leonora Cemetery. I had hoped to be finished by June but it hasn’t happened. I have been working on it since before Christmas but it will all be worthwhile in the end. I will have to stop sometime and present the ‘finished’ product to the Leonora Shire. I say finished, but things like this never are finished, are they? you just keep finding new details and correcting and adding all the time. As they say

‘there’s no such thing as a 100% correct historical record’

If you have a relative buried at Leonora and would like to add some family details or a photograph for the web site I would love to hear from you. Sadly it’s the more recent burials that have a dearth of information and due to privacy rules, it’s hard to find any information in the public domain.

As always I welcome hearing from you. If you could email, that would be great as I’m a bit hard of hearing on the phone. My email is moyasharp@outbackfamilyhistory.com.au  So it’s goodbye from me, and I hope you like this week’s stories.
