Ripping Yarns and Tragic Tales – 16th May 2021

I hope that you all had a lovely Mothers Day last Sunday. I didn’t have any of my children here this year, but we had a lovely lunch for my mother-in-law and all of the other mothers in the family who were in town as well as one new first-time mum.

Not going to mention the office move this week as it is in the stage of ‘looking worse to make it better’ stage. Oh, the horrors of moving furniture that’s hasn’t been moved for a while, especially in old houses. The least said the better!

Thanks to an Outback Family History researcher, I became aware two days ago that the Outback Family History website, (not the blog), wasn’t working. Urgent requests were made to those who know much more about this sort of thing than me, and I found that the security certificate had expired, which showed visitors a most alarming ‘warning page’. As of this morning, all is now ok, and normal service has been resumed at – www.outbackfamilyhistory.com.,au

Whats New:

I have recently been contacted by a lovely lady who has done quite a bit of research into the Meckering Pioneer Cemetery. She asked if it could be included on the Outback Family History website, and although it is a little outside of our designated area I thought it would be interesting to have it included. Hopefully, the cemetery will be on the site soon. Do you have a place or a subject that isn’t featured on the website yet? if so I would love to hear about it?

Boulder Marriages:

I have been a collection of various documents for marriages that took place in Boulder between 1945 and 1951. There are a total of 38 couples in this list which can be viewed in the following post. https://bit.ly/3bsYGkI

I hope that you like this week’s stories.♥
