Mary Beatrice Massey – grave tales

Mary Beatrice Massey died aged 15yrs and was  buried in the Kalgoorlie Cemetery on 6th Jul 1899.  Annie Massey, Mary’s mother,died aged 39yrs and was buried with Beatrice on the 17th April 1900.  They are together  in grave 728 in the Roman Catholic section. They were the wife and only child of George Albert Massey.  George was a prospector who stay in WA for some years after Annie’s death and then he returned to NSW where he remarried in Manly NSW in 1921 to Margaret Elizabeth LYNCH. George died in 1944 in Mosman NSW.

Annie died of Typhoid fever after 20 days in the Kalgoorlie Hospital. The family were living at 54 Piccadilly Street, Kalgoorlie at the time of Annie’s death, directly across the road from the hospital. They were formerly of Ernest Street, North Sydney NSW. Both Annie and Mary were born in NSW. Annie was the daughter of Fergus McGARRY.
