These wonderful photos have just been sent in by Mary Forward.
Her Grandmother’s sister Emily Mann (seen on right) was the Matron at the Lawlers Hospital from 1898 to 1899.
In her off duty time.

fantastic photos! my husband + our two young chn (2 yo and a 1yo) lived for a few months in a van outside the old police station where hubby’s office was one of the gaol cells -not that he spent much time in there as we were working in the field most of the time in 1972. we were then moved NE of Agnew -that was before Leinster was even thought of.
Great photo, imagine cycling thorough sand in those heavy ungainly clothes. Mrs Clifton was Florence Isabel Millward before she married Charlie Clifton he went prospecting in the late 1800’s with my elderly friend Anita R. O Black’s maternal grandfather Ernest Victor George Hahn a Kiwi. Ernest became the first aid officer to the Golden Horshoe mine in Boulder/Kalgoorlie then went up to Wiluna to be the first aid officer for the mines there. Florence’s mother Nurse Elizabeth Margaret Goodall Millward raised Ernest’s daughter Olive P Hahn and son Victor J Hahn when Ernest wife Mary Anne Jones sadly passed away at 37 of TB in Coolgardie
