RYAN Edward, d 4 Nov 1899, Goongarrie, Occ:- Plumber and Miner, 34yrs, Haemorrhage of the lungs caused by rupture of pulmonary vessel, Verdict of Coroner, Reg North Coolgardie 51/1899.
A sudden death, of which a man named Edward Ryan was the victim, occurred at Goongarrie on Saturday last. Ryan was walking along the street, and was seen to stagger and fall. Assistance was quickly obtained, hut: was of no avail, as death occurred within quarter of an hour. Mr McPherson,. postmaster at Goongarrie, informed the Menzies police of the occurrence, and they at once communicated with the coroner. Dr Corlis, in company with Constable Uniacke, proceeded to Goongarrie, and made a post mortem examination of the remains. An inquest was held in the evening by Mr J. M. Beckwith, J.P.. with Messrs J Rayner, R. Sayers, and F. Breton as a jury. In accordance with the medical evidence, the jury found that death was produced by haemorrhage of the lungs. The deceased was a plumber by trade, and was 34 years of age.. He had lately been engaged in dry-blowing, in which occupation lie was associated with a man j named Flanagan. He left no papers or letters to how whether lie had any relatives or riot.
