Obituary. — Much sympathy is felt with Mr. Henry Cribb, manager of the Croesus Proprietary mine, in the death of his wife, after a brief illness, on Saturday last. The deceased lady, who was 26 years old, had ‘been married less than a a year, and her sad death came as a great shock to friends of the family particularly at Leonora, where the late Mrs. Cribb was well known. The funeral took place on Sunday.
Possibly Alice’s death would be from a childbirth related condition. They are buried together inn the Anglican Section of the Kalgoorlie Cemetery. Alice was the daughter of John Stewart and Alice LONG and she was born in Castlemaine Victoria.
Alice’s estate which was awarded to her husband amounted to £165.
Henry was to re marry in 1905 in Perth, to Lydia Evelyn DAVIES. The couple returned to Boulder where their first child, a boy, was stillborn in 1906 and is buried in the same grave as Alice and her baby. Henry and Lydia were to have a further three children, Henry Theodore Born 1906 (Born Kookynie WA) , Vernon Davies 1908 (born Peak Hill WA) and Gweneth Elsie 1912 (born in California USA). Henry was born on the 14th June 1873 in Footscray Victoria and died in Korumburra Victoria in 1950.
